Project “Kipling”

“Kipling” is a new socially oriented project.

This is the result of inspiration at the intersection of diverse iconic moments in overcoming negative stereotypes in the evolution of modern society on the way to absolute inclusiveness: different in time, target audience, genre and implementation. And at the same time common in the main messages: overcoming the segregation of vulnerable social groups, unity, multiculturalism, inclusiveness and focus on the most successful solution to the problem of achieving the maximum mutual positive experience.

We used three key moments as inspiration: the first was the literary heritage of the famous English writer of the 19th century R. Kipling, the second was the famous French film of the second decade of the 21st century directed by Erico Toledano, based on real events – “One plus one” (“Intouchables”). The third key point: the struggle of the progressive community to overcome gender stereotypes and the segregation of various social groups of increased vulnerability.

Working with persons with disabilities and the personal experience of our team members have revealed multiple critical points in the interaction of persons with disabilities and employees of organizations in various fields: from the trade services sector to the banking services sector. This indicated the need for a qualitative change in the approach to understanding the term “support person”, updating the criteria for selecting persons suitable for this work, and new tasks that will be set and completed in the course of implementing the new approach.

The stereotypical “support person” for a person with a disability defines, according to statistics, a middle-aged woman whose tasks are exclusively in basic care. We believe that this unreasonably restricts the rights of men in their desire to try themselves in new professions, undoubtedly leads to hidden gender discrimination when hiring in the field of caring for people with disabilities. It also limits the social circle of people with disabilities, since the “support person” for many people with disabilities is actually the main contact person.

Obviously, a situation is revealed that is undesirable in the conditions of the movement for equal rights and equal opportunities, limiting the rights of different categories of society.

In the conditions of modern migration processes, the most important task is the integration of representatives of non-European cultures into the European cultural community. The study of the achievement of the success of involving representatives of migrant youth in the development of cultural, historical, national and linguistic paradigms, highlighted at the moment in open sources of information, has revealed an insufficiently high level in the development of possible potential. Segregation among these populations is an obvious problem that requires rapid task setting and decision making. The most favorable condition for solving this problem will be the creation of jobs in the field of caring for people with disabilities.

The spirit of mercy will help to overcome cultural and language barriers as soon as possible, and will also be able to direct the energy of young representatives of migration flows towards good. Accordingly, the physical activity and vigor of such “support persons” can significantly expand the range of tasks to be solved and speed up the processes of their implementation.

We are launching a pilot project, which involves further development on an ongoing basis in case of successful experience. The pilot project is based on work with volunteers.

We invite young, physically strong men who see themselves as “support persons” for persons with disabilities, as well as persons with disabilities who are ready to participate in the project.

We will consider the proposals of organizations that train “support persons”, taking into account the expansion and modification of programs in accordance with the requirements of our project.
